In an earlier post, I said:  it's okay to be silly.
En un posteo anterior había dicho: no hay problema con ponerse tontito(a).

I was being silly about "HIMALÁ".
Estaba siendo graciosa con "HIMALÁ".

But seriously, it offended me that the plot says that two men raped the two women, the two "holy" women.
Hablando en serio, no me gustó nada que en la trama que dos hombres violan a las dos mujeres, a las mujeres "santas".

You know why?
¿Saben por qué?

Because I can't believe that Filipino men could be so awful.
Porque no puedo creer que los hombres filipinos sean tan bestias.

In such a situation, in a supposed place of Marian apparitions.
En tal situación, en un lugar supuestamente sitio de apariciones de la Virgen.

It's just too implausible.
Hindi mapaniwalaan.  No es creible.

There would have been people everywhere, surrounding Elsa at every moment.
Hubiese habido un montón de gente por doquier, rodeando a Elsa a cada momento.

The crowd of faithful would've lynched the cameraman.
La multitud de feligreses hubiese linchado al camarógrafo.

I find the lens of the screenwriter, the director, etc., was a very mixed bag of profane and sacred.
Encuentro que la visión del guionista, del director, etc. era mucha mezcla de lo profano y lo sagrado.

I found it unrealistic, very CAMP.
Lo encontré poco realista, muy excéntrica, surrealista.

Of course it was for an unsophisticated audience, it was 1981.
Por supuesto la película se presentó a un público no sofisticado, era 1981.

So because of how silly I found some things in it, I made fun.
Entonces dado lo tontito que me parecieron algunas cosas en la película, me reí de ellas.

It was an interesting concept just the same----better than bomba star films.
Era un concepto interesante de todos modos---mucho mejor que las pelis de mujeres piluchas.
