Es muy interesante, en realidad, que la única novela del P. Burgos trató la historia verídica de una mujer que se volvió azote de los frailes junto con los tulisanes filipinos.

Talagang ca-guitla-guitla na ang caisa-isang novela na sinulat ni Padre Burgos ay tungkol sa totohanang historia ng isang babae na sumapi sa mga tulisan at naging parusa ng mga prayle.

It is really very interesting that the only novel that Padre Burgos wrote was about the true story of a woman who joined the outlaws and became the avenging angel of the friars.

Tras el asesinato de su esposo, doña Luisa y su hija de 16 años Dolores (o Florentina) desaparecieron de Manila.

Pagkatapos ng pagpatayan ng kanyang asawa, si doña Luisa at ang kanyang anak na babae na 16 na taon, ngalan na Dolores (o Florentina), ay naglaho sa Maynila.

After the murder of her husband, doña Luisa and her 16 year old daughter Dolores (aka Florentina) vanished from Manila.

Ang pag-iisip na mabuti ay laging sinisiyasat ang kalikuran ng mga bagay, at tatalipuspusin ang nasa ilalim, ang historiyang di-lantad. Ang malaquing bundok na hielo na di nakikita, sapagkat nasa ilalim ng alon.

Critical thinking is about always looking behind things, examining the underlying context, the meta-narrative.  The invisible iceberg.

Padre Burgos básicamente decía:  por sus actos los conoceréis en su esencia. O sea, que el pasado histórico de las órdenes monacales revelaba su verdadera naturaleza.

Ang sinabi ni Padre Burgos ay ito:  na makikilala mo kung sino sila, ang canilang tunay na pagca-tao, kung tingnan mo nang mabuti ang canilang gaui, ang canilang asal.  Sa madaling salita: ang historya ng kahapon ng mga relihiyosong orden ay nagpakita ng kanilang totoong kalikasan.

Padre Burgos was basically saying: by their deeds you will know their essence. In other words, the historical past of the monastic orders revealed their true nature.

Doña Luisa decide vengar el asesinato de su esposo, el capitán general de Filipinas (Fernando Manuel de Bustamante Bustillo y Rueda), y de su hijo, el Jefe Superior de la Fuerza de Santiago, la destrucción de su familia y de su vida.

Nagpasiya siya na hihigantihin ang pagpatay ng kanyang asawa't (gobernador general Fernando Manuel de Bustamante Bustillo y Rueda) anak na lalaqui, and unahang opisyal ng Kuta ng Santiago, at ang pagwasak ng kanyang pamilya't buhay.

Doña Luisa decided to avenge the murders of her husband (Gov. Gen. Fernando Manuel de Bustamante Bustillo y Rueda) and of her son, the chief officer of Fort Santiago,  the destruction of her family and her life.

Se la describe como una mujer trágica transformada en fiera, se interna con su sobrino, experto en armas, y su hija en los bosques de Ilocos Sur donde se encuentran con los tulisanes, quienes los acogen junto con su jefe, León Magpantay, también conocido como León Magtatanga.

Siya ay inilarawan bilang isang babae na kahambal-hambal na naging mabangis na hayop. Siya'y sumulong sa kagubatan ng probinsya ng Ilocos Sur, kasama ng kanyang anak at pamangquin na experto sa armas. Sila'y nagcataon ng mga tulisan at sila'y sinalilong ng mga ito at ng kanilang hepe, si León Magpantay, tinatawag ding León Magtatanga. 


Doña Luisa is described as a woman overwhelmed by tragedy and transformed into a wild beast. She enters the forests of Ilocos Sur with Dolores and her nephew who is an expert in weapons. They encounter the outlaws and are welcomed by them and their leader, León Magpantay, also known as León Magtatanga.
