Very interesting this gal, and I really like her.
I didn't like her for a long time, found her too over the top.
But watching Telephone it's a right-on video for our times. I was watching out for the things she does that catches one's eye, that "clicks". It's those repetitive motions in fast replay, the outlandish headgear, the sexy body/bodies, the freaks -- the butch or transvestite guards. She does a pastiche of a million things that have to do with what pushes our buttons. And she has this deadpan face, emotionless, with gestures that say "here's my pent-up, checked rage".
The costumes are very raw, not at all polished and slick. Like she said to Larry King, she creates costumes that her fans can make themselves.
I like her voice too. Her nose job was very well rendered, made her pretty.
I love the way she told Larry King: I'm a feminist. So many famous women (I am talking esp about Chile) won't say that.
Her art is definitely about gay culture too.
So bravo you go girl. She is so NOW.
